I'd go for a Hitachi drive for your notebook. It's IBM technology, and I've been using them for over 10 years.

I'm trying to locate a replacement hard drive for my 2005 HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook. The dead drive is a Fujitsu 100GB Model #MHU2100AT which is now discontinued (of course!) It uses an ATA-6 interface and runs at 4200 RPM. Can you help?
